Forbidden Futures: A Time Travel AnthologyMy name is Jon Bradbury and I wrote the story Jump for the Forbidden Future Anthology.

Basically it’s about this FBI agent searching for his missing fiancee. I was very proud and still remain very proud of this story. It required using a lot of creative writing muscles I didn’t even know I had.

You see, up until Jump, I had never even written a time travel or even a science fiction story. I enjoy reading either genre, especially science fiction. Writers such as Timothy Zahn, Ben Bova, Peter David and Douglas Adams, have prime spots in my library.

The idea of writing a story in the sci-fi genre was something I had tried before — and failed miserably.

This was supremely frustrating. Apparently it takes a little more than an over-active imagination to write a sci-fi and/or time travel story. Even a short one.

Then last summer, I went on Twitter and literally happened on a Tweet from Masquerade Crew putting out a call for time travel stories for an anthology. It sounded interesting. One thing led to another and so here I am.

Writing a story in another genre is something every writer is afraid of. Even if they say they are looking forward to it, they are afraid of writing in another genre besides that which they are most comfortable and familiar with.

Just in case you have never heard of me, I am best known for writing interracial BF/WM erotic romance. Not the kind of background one might think of when thinking of writing time travel stories.

Just look at the reality tv program “So You Think You Can Dance.” Dancers are put through their paces, and put to the test, dancing in all sorts of styles they have never heard of in their life and … Read the rest “Forbidden Futures guest post: Jon Bradbury”

Shunned by a family that doesn’t understand him, demigod Lenka Tahile aka “Swindle” is a complete loner and he likes it that way. 2. “Swindle” is Lenka’s celestial name. He is a son of Hermes. Figure it out.

Haunted by the ghost of you,
the things you said,
and made me do;
the darkness that called out to me,
pulled me in,
set me free.
I lie here in my bed at night,
dream of you,
our Maybe Life,
regret the choices that we made,
the love you took into the grave.
